This policy describes how the developer of DiffyPick (the “Developer”) handles information in DiffyPick (the “Software”) and on this website.

1. Principles

The Software is a local-first desktop application. Your database connection details, schemas, and data are never sent to the Developer or any third-party server.

2. Information the Software handles

• Connection details (hostnames, usernames, passwords, etc.) are stored only on your device, and secrets such as passwords are encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
• Comparison and sync run entirely between your device and the target databases.

3. Network communication

The Software communicates externally in exactly two cases:

• License validation: the minimum information needed to validate your license key and manage activations is sent to the payment platform (Polar).
• Update checks: the current version is sent to check whether a newer version exists.

4. Purchase information

Licenses are sold by Polar as Merchant of Record. Your name, email address, and payment details entered at checkout are collected and processed by Polar (seePolar’s Privacy Policy). The Developer may receive your email address and related information to the extent needed to manage your license.

5. This website

This website is hosted on Cloudflare. It currently uses no tracking cookies. If analytics are introduced, they will use cookie-free, aggregate methods.

6. Support

Messages sent to the support email are used only to respond to your inquiry.

7. Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page.
